I am a writer, speaker and poet. By day, I pay the bills by working as communications manager for a state agency and as an adjunct lecturer at a university. Nights and weekends, you can find me anywhere there's poetry or conversations about poetry.
I write to give voice to women and the things that concern us. I usually host community arts events each year in March (Women's History Month) or April (Poetry Month). I am often invited as featured speaker or poet for women's conferences, writing workshops, etc.,
I've been a member or participant of St. Louis Poetry Center, St. Louis Writers Guild, Sisters 90s Literary Group and Ruth-Miriam Garnett's Maat Writing Workshop.
In 2012, I became co-founder of Write Sistahs Literary Group. In 2019, we renamed that group as North County Writing & Arts Network. We've focused on increasing community arts events, programming and collaborations in North St. Louis County. Collectively, our members have produced about 10 books, short stories and visual art. We meet monthly and host an annual retreat, and open mic. Join North County Writing & Arts on the facebook page or the meetup page -
